Julio Castrillon Candas is a Research Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Boston University, and is the co-head of the Machine Learning Research Group (busml.org). His interests span across Computational Applied Mathematics (CAM), Computational Statistics (CS), Uncertainty Quantification (UQ), high dimensional stochastic Partial Differential Equations (sPDE) and Machine Learning (ML). Applications include protein-protein interactions, power systems and analysis of massive medical records.
Mark Kon is a professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Boston University. He is affiliated with the Quantum Information Group, the Bioinformatics Program and the Computational Neuroscience Program. He is a co-head of the Machine Learning Research Group (busml.org). He received a PhD in Mathematics from MIT, and Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology from Cornell University. He has had appointments at Columbia University as Assistant and Associate Professor, as well as at Harvard and MIT. He has published ~125 articles, including two books.
Charles DeLisi, Dean emeritus of BU's College of Engineering, is a pioneer in computational and mathematical biology and widely recognized as the Father of the Human Genome Project. He also initiated its ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) program. He has co-edited 11 books and authored 300+ papers.
Yannis Paschalidis is a Distinguished Professor at Boston University with joint appointments in Engineering, Biomedical, and Data Sciences. He is Director of the Hariri Institute for Computing & Computational Science & Engineering.
